One of the most important things about of having a website is getting people to come to your site. WIthout traffic your site is essentially worthless. So what’s the ideal way to get people to your website? There are only a couple different types of traffic. Free and paid. So what does that mean? You can either purchase traffic or you get people to come for free.
In deciding to buy traffic to get folks to your web site, you can use services like Microsoft and models referred to as Pay Per click. Now, what happens here is that you tell Microsoft, for example, how much you are willing to pay for each visitor. And depending on the amount of competition you might end up payng a lot or a not much per person. From a few pennies per person to several dollars per visitor. So it can get real pricey. But it’s quick, reliable and usually precidtable traffic. This model works at getting people to your site.
Another example of a model is the banner and paying for impressions model. With this technique you don’t spend per click, you purchase a certain number of impressions typically measured in Cost per Thousands (CPM). And there are various ad networks out there that you can join and upload your banners and other websites put that banner on their site for the determined number of impressions. In this approach you might get a ton of visitors or none at all.
The important thing about buying traffic is that you really need to test the results and keep an eye on the process, otherwise you might just be wasting your whole budget.
The other option when it comes to getting people to visit is getting FREE traffic. Free web traffic can come from the search engines which unless you’re lucky, requires knowledge of search engine optimization. Free traffic can also come from other websites. Linking between sites is a helpful way of getting traffic. Other ways of getting free traffic might be things like writing articles and submitting them to article directories. You could also post meaningful comments on social sites like forums and blogs with a link to your site can also help you get additional free traffic.
So there are several ways to get visitors to your site. And really both ways free and paid, should be implemented and tested to see which one works best for your particular website.

I have heard that you can make money from blogging, but i really don’t understand the concept. How do you make the money? How much can you make? Is it hard? Is it easy? Is it time consuming? Is it worth it? If you could answer that would be great, thanks.

Yes, we’re talking about list building, though nowadays using things such as Twitter can be just as good. End of the day, the choice is yours so long as you’re able to set up some system whereby you can continue to market to your proven buyers. If you’re able to take care of each and every one of these key ingredients, you’ll quickly find that you’re able to turn your own blog into a successful money making blog too!
